Illness in the body occurs through a combination of genetic and inherited factors, lifestyle and environmental variables, injuries or infections; Illness in the mind occurs through a similar combination of factors. Often the two are meshed together.

The body, sensations, thoughts and feelings that direct our actions in the present are connected to the past.  Just as a fossil or a pearl holds the shape from the forces which created it, our memories and beliefs shape our present and our future.

Learning to recognise and defuse habitual patterns gives us space and choice to be who we really are.

About Margot
Margot Edwards Portrait.jpg

After 25 years practice as a Mental Health Occupational Therapist, I decided to follow my passion for psychotherapy.  As an OT I worked primarily in community and In-patient Mental Health searching for ways to help clients help themselves.  This was recognised by a District Health Award for Innovation for introducing Sensory Modulation to the Coffs Harbour Inpatient Unit and presentations at regional and state conferences.

My psychotherapy journey has taken me on a winding path through Psychodrama, Art therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems, amongst others.

My interest is in working with the unseen and unacknowledged parts of our Self and to provide them with a voice.
